RESULTS OF PLANNING AND ZONING MEETING THAT
WAS HELD ON AUGUST 12, 2002

The Kansas City Kansas Planning and Zoning Committee recommended a zoning change for business ONLY to be allowed at the 110th & Donohoo site.  Dave Angelotti made a motion that allows CP2 or that retail be allowed as well.  This motion passed with a vote of 6 to 3.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE A LOT OF BODIES AT THE COMMISSIONER'S MEETING OF AUGUST 29TH 7:00 PM AT CITY HALL.

THERE NEEDS TO BE PEOPLE FROM THE WHOLE COMMUNITY TO VOICE THE FACT THAT WE DO NOT WANT SPOT ZONING THAT ALLOWS COMMERCIAL PROPERTY AT THAT LOCATION.  Why would out community want commercial property in the midst of many new homes, our children's direct route to school?  This could be the beginning of zone changes for the whole area around the school.

Wyandotte County is finally on an aphill swing with NASCAR and the new shopping area, hotel, restaurants and entertainment.  WHY does this city continue to botch up good things?  Why mess up the area that is attracting new people to Wyandotte Co.  We have a lovely setting, close to shopping and restaurants.  You don't fix something that "ain't broke" we need to build on what is good.

YOU CAN ALSO CALL THE COMMISSIONERS--ALL OF THEM!!!

KELLY KULTALA               573-5040
MAYOR MARINOVICH     573-5010
DENNIS HAYES                  573-5020

YOU CAN ALSO E-MAIL THE ABOVE PEOPLE
(But please come to the meeting too!!!)

Many communities such as Turner, Argentine, Strawberry Hill, and Rosedale have formed Community Associations in order to have a stronger voice with the City.  It could be time to organize a PIPER COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION.  If you have any interests or ideas, come join in the meeting at Pierceall's 4124 No. 110th Street.  BRING A LAWN CHAIR - SUNDAY, AUGUST 18, 2002 @ 7 p.m.  The Zone change is for Hutton Rd. and Donahoo Intersection.
